The task of organizing the materials at our new location was the main activity for this month. As this location was a former three bedroom house, the shelves had to be reconfigured, boxes organised and the research reading room set up.
John Aarons attended the annual conference of the Society of American Archivists in Washington D C and attended sessions relevant to work of the Archives. This included a session organized by the Latin America and Caribbean Cultural Heritage Archives Roundtable (LACCHA) which several Caribbean archivists presented papers on their outreach activities. He also attended a two day pre conference workshop on Managing Electronic Records in Archives and Special Collections which provided him with new insights into the establishment and organization of an electronic records management programme at the UWI Archives.
