At the May 2014 series of University Meetings, during which the University Archives and Records Management Advisory Committee met, University Archivist John Aarons was honoured for his sterling contribution to The University of the West Indies as the University Archivist.
As with all meetings of UARMAC, the various papers tabled and matters deliberated revolved around the various strategies, policies and developments affecting information sharing and recordkeeping within The University of the West Indies.
At the end of a successful meeting, UARMAC Chair, Pro Vice Chancellor, Professor Alan Cobley, read a short citation outlining John Aarons‘ achievements as University Archivist. A photograhic presentation was screened and a plaque was presented to him by Dr Stanley Griffin, Assistant Archivist-Mona, on the Committee’s behalf. A wine reception, in John’s honour, followed.
The University Archives and Records Management Advisory Committee wishes John Aarons a long, healthy and enjoyable retirement.
