We have been silent here for a while, but we are certainly not absent from work! Over the last few months, we at the University Archives have been busy behind the scenes, preserving the ‘recent past’, and preparing for the upcoming future.
We are especially pleased to be working with the Mona Campus‘ Department of Library and Information Studies as the teaching site for their new archival courses, the BA in Information Studies and the MA in Archives and Records Management Studies Programmes. Students at the undergraduate (BA) and postgraduate (MA) levels will have various work-study experience opportunities over the course of the academic year. The Undergrads will have their practical tutorials and the Masters students their classes as well as opportunities for arranged practicums. This is a great opportunity for us here at the Archives to influence the training of future archival practitioners and professionals
Here are some snapshots of our recent flurry of activity.
We will be back to our regular blogging and can expect to hear and see more of what we are doing at least twice per month. Thank you for following us at The UWI Archives.
